What is an llms.txt file?
It is a proposed Markdown format that gives AI systems a concise, curated guide to important content on a website.
Where should I publish the file?
A site-wide file normally lives at https://yourdomain.ca/llms.txt. A subpath can have its own file when it only describes that part of the site.
Does llms.txt guarantee AI-search visibility?
No. It is a discovery and context format, not a ranking guarantee. The quality, accessibility and authority of the linked content still matter.
Does it replace robots.txt or a sitemap?
No. Each serves a different purpose. Keep your existing crawling controls and sitemap in place.
